AAPI -The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) Arkansas chapter is proud to announce its annual five need-based scholarships of $1500 each, five purely merit-based scholarships of $500 each and one special award of $2,500. These scholarships will be granted to graduating (current 11th Grade, graduating from high school in May 2018 )high school senior students recognizing their service to the local and/or global community. In addition, AAPI requires a minimum GPA requirement for each category. We invite you to solicit applications from your school for each category (need based and merit). Each year the AAPI will present the award at their annual meeting to be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Statehouse Convention Center.
Please distribute the attached applications to students andsubmit the completed applications to my office by Friday, May 5, 2017.

AFCEA Arkansas Scholarship – Requirements include: graduating high school senior who has overcome adversity and hardship in their personal or family life,student attends a public or private school in Arkansas, student plans to enter a science or engineering field of study supportive of national defense or STEM, student has a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and aminimum score of 20 on the ACT.
American Legion Scholarships – Deadline is March 13, 2017. Two scholarshipswill be awarded for each of the four areas of the state. Coudret TrustFoundation Scholarships are worth $1000.00 each.
Garner Trust Foundation Scholarships are worth $2500.00 each.
Arkansas Public Health Association - $1000 annual scholarship for Arkansas Students in a Public Health field. Minimum 2.5 GPA, must be classified as atleast a sophomore in college, demonstrate financial need, must be an Arkansas Resident. Deadline is March 16th of each year.
Arkansas School Plant Management Association – ASPMA awards up to $10,000 annually. Requirements of a 3.0 GPA or better and a 19 or better on the ACT. Deadline is April 1, 2017. Please see the Scholarship Book & File box for additional information and application.
Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers – Must be a US citizen, must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, must have SAT score of 500 math and 450 verbal or ACT scoreof 25 math and 23 English. Deadline is May 12, 2017. $1000 scholarship.
Best Mattress Reviews – Awarded Amount $1000, Deadline is May 19, 2017.N on Renewable. Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Creative video application required.
Black Note – Deadline April 30, 2017. Must be a full time student, must be 18 years old or older, 750 word essay (3 pages, typed & double spaced), must be a legal resident of the 50 United States.
Brad Marshall Memorial Scholarship - $1000 for 1st semester and $1000 for 2ndsemester for one year of college. Requirements: graduating senior, gpa of 2.0,an essay (½ - 1 page) on how you plan to give back to your community during your post-educational career, a current picture, two letters of recommendations, and a list of school activities, awards, honors, clubs,organizations, and volunteer/community service work. Applications need to beturned into the counseling office no later than Wednesday, March 29th. Please see your counselor for questions.
Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation – This scholarship is for African – Americanmales who have demonstrated a commitment to education, have high ethical standards, have outstanding leadership abilities, participate in community and other extra-curricular activities and have a financial need. Charles Donaldson Scholars Academy & Scholarship –The Donaldson Scholars Academy consists of classroom instruction that appeals to different learning styles and challenges students to think across the curriculum. Students in the Pulaski County Special School District, who remain in the academy through their senior year of high school and attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock or Philander Smith College, will beoffered a $2,500 annual scholarship, renewable for up to four years.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International – Deadline is March 15, 2017. $1000 scholarship available. Student must be pursuing an education degree. Application can be found in the Scholarship File Box in the Counseling Office
FIRST ELECTRIC - First Electric Cooperative is inviting students to participate inthe Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washing D.C. from June 9 - 15, 2017. This all-expense-paid trip is open to any high school junior whose parents orguardians are customers of First Electric. To be considered, students must submit an application by March 17, 2017. First Electric is also accepting pplications for the 2017 scholarship program. Five $2000 scholarships will be awarded to area high school seniors. The application must be received in themail or dropped off at any First Electric office by 5 p.m. on April 3, 2017.

HOPE Scholarships for the Class of 2017 - Deadline 03/31/2017 - As a senior in UALR Children International, you are eligible for one of eight $1000 scholarships.Scholarships may cover tuition, application fees, books, and other fees for colleges or selected vocational schools.You MUST: Be a senior enrolled in UALR CI AND interested in attending college/vocational training for the first-time in the fall of 2017, and Have 2.5 GPA or higher. Recipient criteria is as follows: graduating senior, photo of yourself, 2.80 cumulative gpa, high school transcript, financialneed, three recommendations, 500 word essay, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university. National School Plant Management Association - $4000 in scholarships rangingfrom $500 to $1500 per individual. Application is located in the Scholarship File Box in the Counseling Office.

PEARLS Foundation of Central Arkansas – Dr. Phillis Nichols Anderson FaithBased Scholarship. Pulaski County Special School District African American Scholarship - $2500 scholarship, student must have successfully completed at least 6 semesters at a PCSSD high school, GPA of 2.0 or higher, must be enrolled in a post-secondary school in Arkansas, must demonstrate financial need. Sister Friends United Faith Scholarship - $500 scholarship. Must be a legal resident of Pulaski County, Minimum GPA of 2.75 GPA, will be attending a 4 year college in the state of Arkansas. Deadline is April 15, 2017.
