Congratulations to Mr. Larry Smith and his AP Computer Science students (from the 2022-2023 school year) for receiving the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award! This group of students joins AP Computer Science classes from just over 1,000 high schools across the *nation* who received the award. Research demonstrates that women are more likely to pursue computer science if they are given the opportunity to explore it in high school. Way to go!

Today is Leap Day! Leap years exist because it actually takes the planet a little bit more than a year to orbit the sun. That time is rounded down to the 365 days we recognize as a typical year, those nearly six extra hours don't disappear. Leap years are added to account for the difference. The extra day keeps calendars and seasons from gradually falling out of sync and impacting harvesting, planting and other cycles based on the seasons. #pcssdproud #serveall
