The Sylvan Hills High School swim team competed in the 5A state meet February 28 - March 1, 2025. This year was one for the memory books as the Lady Bears had their best overall finish.
Here are some of the results from the State Meet for the LADY BEARS:
Finished 6th out of 16 teams with 202 points with only 22.5 points separating 4th through 6th places.
3rd place for the 200M Medley Relay and 200M Free Relay (Sara Adams, Taylor Adams, Abigail Keen, and Mia Mabry)
Sara Adams (Freshman) - 4th place in 100m Butterfly, 5th place in 100m Backstroke and 2 personal bests in the 50 Free and 100 Butterfly.
Taylor Adams(Junior) - 6th place in 100m Butterfly, 7th place in 50m Freestyle and season-beset in 50m Butterfly.
Abigail Keen (Freshman) - 5th place for 100m Breaststroke and 7th place in 200m Freestyle.
Mia Mabry (Junior) - 4th place in 100m Backstroke and 5th place in 100m Freestyle.
Xiomara Meija (Freshman) - 13th place in 200m individual medley and 11th in 100m backstroke.
Addison Childress (Senior) - 16th place in 100m freestyle.
400m Free Relay team finished 9th (Iris Stover, Addison Childress, Ruby Guevara, and Xiomara Meija).
Here are some of the results from the State Meet for the BEARS (boys' team):
Four (4) swimmers in the men's division: Noah Keen, Alejandro Saenz (Senior), Jeremiah Carrethers, and Brayden Wallace (Freshman).
6th place for the 200m Medley Relay with a season-best time.
7th place finish in the 200m Free Relay with a season-best time (more than 2.5 seconds off previous best).
Noah Keen (Senior) - 3rd place finish in the 100m Freestyle, personal best in 100m Freestyle, 8th place in 50m freestyle, and personal best 50m Backstroke in opening Medley Relay.
Jeremiah Carrethers (Junior) - 12th place in 100m freestyle and 16th place in 50m Freestyle.
Prior to the state meet, the Lady Bears placed 2nd in the 5A Central Conference meet just 30 points behind the winner, Little Rock Christian.
