As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, our 6th and 7th grade Spanish students celebrated with a salsa lesson last week. Special guest Leah Patterson, who owns Leah's School of Latin Dance, led the students in the salsa lessons. What a fun way to engage with Spanish culture!

Last weekend, our choir students attended 2024 Region 2- All Region Junior High Choir auditions. Out of nearly 1,000 choir students who auditioned, 18 students from SHMS Choir made the cut! Only 20-30 students per voice part were selected for each choir. All of the SHMS students selected were 7th graders who competed against 7-9th graders. Way to go SHMS Choir!!

Our SHMS Bears Community Service Club is hosting a Coats for Kids Coat Drive to help keep children warm this winter! We are collecting gently used coats for kids of all sizes. You can drop them off anytime at SHMS. All donated coats will be distributed to elementary schools in our feeder pattern to kids who need them. Let’s come together as a community and make sure every child stays warm this season! ❄️
