We were proud to have outstanding representatives at the Museum of Discovery for the event "Discovering Excellence in Arkansas," sponsored by Molex. This event introduced sixth-graders to the STEM careers available in Arkansas. The students were enlightened about career opportunities with Entergy, Falcon Jet, SPP, Garver, and PPG. Sylvan Hills Middle School is proud to announce that Ms. Hemphill's 7th period English Class is crowned The 2024 Arkansas State Reading Champions in the Middle School Conference. This comes as a result of reading the most minutes per team in our conference over four weeks during READBowl 2024: The World Championship of Reading. This is a global reading competition put on by Read With Malcolm, the Youth Literacy Initiative of NFL Super Bowl Champion and children's book author Malcolm Mitchell. The seventh annual competition took place earlier this year. Way to go Ms. Hemphill!
