This is a reminder about the PSAT! The deadline to pay is tomorrow, so we wanted to send another reminder.

The exam will be offered at Mills High School on the morning of October 8, 2025. Once you have paid this fee and gotten a receipt, please see Mr. Rimmer with it so that he can finalize the exam order.

🚀 Our incredible volunteers gave over 10,000 hours of their time to students last school year, and they’re ready to level up for 2025-2026!

📚 Today, ladies from the UAPB Alumni Association kicked off a monthly Book Club with our third graders at College Station and Harris Elementaries. Kids also had a friend scavenger hunt where they had to get signatures from the other school's scholars.

💖 Want in on the fun? Become a PCSSD volunteer and help spark young minds. Sign up here: https://securevolunteer.com/Pulaski-County-Special-School-District/home

🔒 Safety first: Anyone who wishes to volunteer at a PCSSD school must first complete a volunteer application. This includes a background check conducted online at no cost to the volunteer.

Now Hiring Teachers
If you know anything about welding, you can tell this weld is outstanding! Senior Tia Gilbert demonstrated this nearly perfect technique while our academy partner, Lexicon Incorporated, was here checking out our facilities, materials, and student work.

As her welding teacher, Mr. Moseley, said, she knocked it out of the park with this shielded metal arc welding demonstration.

Because of this skill set, Lexicon offered Tia a job on the spot! They are interested in hiring her either right after high school or after she attends a post-secondary institution. Hard work pays off!

We are thankful to Lexicon for providing the con-ex facilities and all supplies and equipment to make these courses possible. And we are so proud of Tia, Mr. Moseley, and the entire program for giving our students these skill sets and opportunities.

Watch out world; Mills High is on the move!

Students in Ms. Jackson's AVID classes were working on building their relational capacity today! Some of the most important skills we want students to learn include making eye contact, speaking clearly, and being comfortable in social situations. This activity checked all of those boxes! Ask your student about their first day of school activities that they did today and see what you find out.
