It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our own. Karen Carias, a freshman at Mills University Studies High, passed away on Saturday (March 8 ). She was less than two weeks from turning 15. Our thoughts and prayers are with Karen and her family during this difficult time.
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, an important reminder to celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities. PCSSD aims to provide services that remove barriers for our students, staff and families with developmental disabilities.

Mr. Cross was nominated by a student who said, "He is a motivating teacher who aspires to help students improve and become the best versions of themselves. He makes sure to teach each of us even if we struggle within band practices."
Our students were nominated by teachers, and here's what was said about each one.
9th Grader Candy: She has maintained all As this year, she rarely misses any school, and she recently scored at the top level on the ATLAS winter interim in English. Her hard work pays off.
10th Grader Michael: He actively seeks opportunities to improve his grade and is always in class and on time. His work ethic is fantastic!
11th Grader A'Nora: She is always on task, works hard to understand the material, and will ask questions when she is unsure. She's also pleasant and kind-hearted.
12th Grader David: He maintains very good grades, works full time, is an outstanding musician in both band and orchestra, and always has a smile on his face!
We are so proud to have these people as a part of our Mills University Studies High School family!
